American Family Children's Hospital Ranked in U.S. News Top 50

The mission of the University of Wisconsin Pediatric Hematology, Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant division is to provide innovative, comprehensive, and compassionate family centered clinical care to current and future patients at UW. Excellence in clinical care is dependent upon research and teaching, and requires their complete integration through all aspects of this program.

Pediatric Hematology, Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant Leadership

Our vision is that excellence is best accomplished by a collection of interdisciplinary professionals, functioning as a team, with mutual respect and shared goals. The success of this team requires close interactions with supportive agencies and structures (i.e. local medical providers, hospitals, universities, government, third party payors, etc.), a unified strategy for progress, and a commitment to serving the public and community.

The University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics provide primary multidisciplinary care for approximately two million people in Wisconsin and northwestern Illinois. The UWPHO division is responsible for the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults with primary hematologic or oncologic disorders. Our approach utilizes a family-centered model of delivering care, and we encourage involvement of patients and their families in education about their disease. We also share responsibility for the training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
